I too bought this stove to your destination by believing it was a deep Fryer and I was disappointed that the instructions noted that it was not a deep Fryer. couldn't find anything I liked most (plastic machines seem flimsy and awkward), took the advice of the last review and tried as a Fryer for tofu and eggrolls. It works! The thermostat seems reliable, and heats quickly enough. also, is dishwasher-safe and non-stick. the only disappointments include the fry basket,
